How to install

  1. Unzip AutoSizeText.zip. You'll get a folder called AutoSizeText.
  2. Drop that folder into Fusion's add-ins directory:
    • Windows: paste this into File Explorer's address bar:
      %APPDATA%\Autodesk\Autodesk Fusion 360\API\AddIns
    • Mac: Finder → Go → Go to Folder…
      ~/Library/Application Support/Autodesk/Autodesk Fusion 360/API/AddIns
  3. Open Fusion 360. Utilities → Add-Ins → Scripts and Add-Ins (or hit Shift+S).
  4. Click the Add-Ins tab → select AutoSizeText → check Run on Startup → click Run.
  5. Two new buttons appear in Tools → Add-Ins:
    • Auto-Size Text — type a name, pick the zone, click OK.
    • Auto-Size Text Settings — tweak default sizes, fonts, brackets. No file editing required.

Tell me what's broken or missing

Use this once you've actually tried it on a real paddle. Skip whatever doesn't apply — every box is optional. Faster + more specific = better script.

e.g., "ALEXANDER" came out 12mm but I wanted 25mm. Or "JON" was 65mm but it should've been 50mm. Be specific — name + size you got + size you wanted.
Anything you find yourself doing repeatedly, or steps that feel like they shouldn't exist.
e.g., batch mode (feed in a list of names), auto-export to DXF, multi-line names, presets, etc.
If Fusion threw a popup error, paste the text. If something looked off, describe it.
